Sharjah
There are two ports that share the commercial load of traffic in Sharjah; Port Khalid and Port of Hamriyah. The Port of Khalid is in the centre of Sharjah city and is considered to be the leading seaport of the region, boasting the first container and free trade terminal as well as a roll-on/roll-off cargo terminal. The Port of Hamriyah was first built to handle exports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) produced at the Sajja Gas Field. The port is also a free trade zone where foreign ownership is authorised and there are no tax or restrictions on trade.
