The Port of Xiamen is located on the coast of Xiamen Island, in the southeast of China’s Fujian Province. The People’s Republic of China recently voted the Port of Xiamen the second most livable city in the country. The Port has been open to foreign investment since the 1980s and this has created many jobs and industries, including the main economic activities such as fishing and ship building.
